Hypnosis, or hypnotherapy, is a highly effective transformational process.
While in a deep state of relaxation, desired changes and goals are established.
The client is able to change their perception of a singular negative event or even a whole period of time by accessing their "operating program" (the subconscious mind).
Doing so releases the negative emotional-hold which will free the client from replicating negative behavioral patterns.
The following case study reveals how one may benefit from Hypnosis: Recently, I worked with a client who was extremely anxious about flying.
She had a business meeting to attend on the West Coast and could not bear the thought of her colleagues seeing her as feeble or incompetent.
Her worry about being mocked, as well as being stuck on a plane, turned into debilitating fear.
The very thought of getting on that plane was enough to send her into a panic attack, and yet she felt ashamed, inadequate afraid to be judged.
While in hypnosis, she was able to trace her fear back to the first time she ever felt this way and describe it in great details.
This was a childhood memory that had nothing to do with a real flying experience or being on a plane at all!By reviewing this particular childhood event through her adult eyes, she realized that her fear of flying was the expression or outcome of feeling very insecure and not in control of her life.
Once this connection was made, and through proper guidance she was able to change the way she felt, change her perception of the event from scary and unsafe, to rational and safe.
In turn, the root cause of her fear was no longer "throbbing" or affecting her.
Not only was she able to fly comfortably, but other aspects of her life were improved.
This form of hypnosis where client is guided to the first event of significant is referred to as "Regression to Cause".
In this case it allowed my client to set aside her self-limiting ideas and beliefs.
She was able to change the matrix of her thinking, thus her experience.
We are all capable of doing this.
If you are experiencing a debilitating fear, worries, panic or simply wish to change some unhealthy behaviors in your life, find a professional hypnotherapist in your area.
Always exercise common sense if you are under psychological or medical supervision.
It is vital that either party will be aware and give consent to your choice of treatment.
