We grew up with dogs all of our lives and always have treated them like part of the family.
We had a dog we called lady.
This dog was so lovable until one day a stranger came to our home unannounced, and let me tell you, it was not pretty.
The gentleman was staggering all over the place until lady grabbed a hold of his leg and boy did she bite him good.
She actually bit an entire plug of the man's leg.
I felt so sorry for him, but why would he come to our home uninvited.
See, lady had just finished giving birth and I've heard that dogs are very protected of their babies, and one should stay far away until the pups are walking and less dependent on Mom's milk...
unless you are feeding the mother When I learned what breed Punkin was, I was a bit leery because I owned a Chow before in the past and that dog was the meanest.
It wasn't until I purchased homeowner's insurance that I found out the insurance company would not cover us if she were to bite someone, and Chows are known for doing that.
On top of everything else, I found out that she is mixed with Sharpea...
another breed not covered under insurance.
What a cute dog and so lovable she is.
She turned out to be the complete opposite of my thoughts.
I had to learn all about her from her original owner my husband Robin! I learned that she has always been well taken care of and that she never had a chance to have any pups because he had her spaded early in life.
(Really would have loved to see those pups!) She is amazing and everyone that comes to visit feels the same.
There's only one thing that puzzles me though...
how did my dog get to be prejudice.
She absolutely doesn't like white people.
I have to actually hold her down so that she won't bite them.
I feel so bad about that...
and embarrassed as well.
Can anyone explain this? I still have not figured this out.
How do dogs become prejudice?
