- Magnet wire is not magnetic itself. It is wire made from copper or aluminum, covered with a thin layer of flexible insulation. Sy-Bondeze wire has a special bondable topcoat over the insulation. It has high cut-through or thermoplastic flow (melting when heated) values, giving it a different rating to other magnet wires.
- Magnet wire is used in the construction of electromagnets, transformers, inductors, motors and other applications requiring the creation of an electromagnetic field. Sy-Bondeze magnet wire's bondable topcoat, when heated, bonds turn to turn, allowing self-supporting coils to be made.
- Sy-Bondeze's self-bonding properties avoid the necessity for varnishing or taping. It also allows the wire to be used to create coils of awkward or unusual shape.
