- If you are sending out at a traditional wedding rehearsal invitation, keep it basic.
Here's an example of the proper wording for your invitation:
Matt and Tammy are tying the knot
Please join us for a wedding run-through
Friday, January 3 at 6 p.m.
NAS Lemoore Chapel
Dinner will follow at Reyna's in Lemoore at 7:30
Hosted by Al & Phyl Runzel
RSVP to 555-555-5555 by December 27
With a more casual rehearsal and dinner, you can keep the invitation itself simple. Don't use any fancy font or wording for the invitation, keep the colors neutral and any designs or borders at a minimum. Many websites will allow you to design an invitation and print it from your own computer. - Use a fancier font for a more formal invitation.
If you choose to have a more formal wedding rehearsal, you will need to put all of the same information you would on a casual invitation, plus anything else guests need to know. For example, if your dinner is planned for a more formal location with a specific dress code, mention the requirements on the invitation.
Follow this example for a more formal invitation:
Mr. and Mrs. Al Runzel
Request the pleasure of your company
At Matt and Tammy's wedding rehearsal
On Friday, the third of January, at six o'clock in the evening
NAS Lemoore Chapel
Dinner will follow the wedding rehearsal
At Northwoods Country Club
5429 Highway 39
Meridian
Please reply to 555-555-5555 by the 27th of December.
Formal attire is required at dinner
Order the invitations from a local print company or buy nice card stock or stationary at a local craft store to print your own. - Invitations are not necessary for wedding rehearsals or wedding rehearsal dinners. There are a number of ways you can let the wedding party and relatives know about the rehearsal.
If you choose not to send out a paper invitation, let everyone through word of mouth. Have the mother of the bride and mother of the groom let everyone know. Another popular and quick option is to send out online invitations. Use a website that lets you design fun invitations and send them straight to e-mail.
Your rehearsal dinner does not have to match the theme or setting of your wedding. You can have a casual rehearsal and dinner, even if your wedding is very formal. Or make the rehearsal dinner formal for a casual wedding.
