especially if they can get a comparable product for a lot less or even the same price.
If the competitive product is better known, you'll have a hard time closing the sale.

There are two ways to tackle this guarantee.
You can offer them one with an extended period of time.
For example, if the standard guarantee for your product elsewhere is 60 days, why not try offering a 90 day guarantee or even a 6 month guarantee? This will certainly open up your prospect's eyes.
