- 1). Choose a level area of your yard for the pool. If the ground is not level, dig or fill the area to level it. Pick up any debris from the area you are going to place your pool because small rocks and sticks can puncture the lining. Place a ground cloth on the area where your pool will be to provide additional protection.
- 2). Place the pool in the center of the ground cloth and unroll the pool. Locate the holes to connect the filter tubes. Place them in the direction of the area where you want to place your filter. Make sure the pool is close enough to an electrical outlet to plug in your filter.
- 3). Begin inflating the ring that around the top of the pool with a hand pump or air pump. When the ring is full, pull up on the sides and push the bottom of the pool out with your feet and smooth out the wrinkles on the bottom of the pool.
- 4). Attach the filter pump to the pool before you begin filling the pool with water. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for assembling and attaching the pump to the pool. Make sure the drain plug for the pool is tightly sealed before you begin filling the pool with water. After there is about one inch of pool in the water, smooth out any remaining wrinkles. Continue filling the pool.
