- 1). Begin the game to see what starting area and armies you will control. Every war-strategy game begins differently, so knowing what you start with will determine your next plan of action.
- 2). Take control of a small area or continent and build up your defenses. Holding on to a small area, such as Australia in the original "Risk" game gives you two advantages. The first is that it increases the number of armies you receive each turn and secondly, it is easily defensible.
- 3). Strike out at nearby opponents. Once you have built up your armies, it is time to go on the offensive. Remember to always make sure that your small area is still defended. You don't want to lost what you have.
- 4). Take control of larger areas/continents. As you attack your opponents, work to obtain a second or third area that will increase the number of armies you receive. The more armies that you get each turn, the better your chances for survival and world domination.
