October 14, 2003 - The soundtrack to the feature film "Radio" starring Cuba Gooding Jr and Ed Harris includes a brand new recording by India.Arie. India.Arie's "Eyes of the Heart," featured on "Radio/Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" released on October 21, 2003, was produced by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. The song was written by India.Arie, "Big Jim" Wright, Obataiye Samuel, score composer James Horner and Jam & Lewis.
"Radio" was inspired by true events and focuses on the relationship between a high school football coach (Harris) and Radio (Gooding, Jr.), a mentally challenged young man who loves football. Their mentoring relationship changes the way people from the small town think about Radio.
The film was directed by Mike Tollin and is produced by Tollin, Brian Robbins and Herbert W. Gains.
"Radio/Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" also features several score excerpts composed by Horner, two featuring India.Arie. Additional songs on the "Radio" soundtrack include Stevie Wonder's "We Can Work It Out" and Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes' "Wake Up Everybody" and "If You Don't Know Me By Now." The Spinners contribue "I'll Be Around" and the dance number "The Rubberband Man."
Al Green's featured on the soundtrack with "Sha-La-La," the Isley Brothers perform "That Lady (Part 1)," and the Friends of Distinction's "Going in Circles" is also on the CD.
