- 1). Right-click the MDI document and click "Microsoft Office Document Imaging" to open the document in the application.
- 2). Click the "File" option from the top navigation bar, and then click "Save As..." from the File Menu. A File Save dialog box will open.
- 3). Click the "TIF (.tif)" file type from the drop-down list labeled "File Type."
- 4). Type a new name for the document, if desired, into the text input box labeled "File Name." Click the "Save" button. The MDI document will be converted to the TIFF (.tif) format.
- 1). Right-click the MDI document and open with the Microsoft Document Imaging application.
- 2). Click the "Tools" option from the top menu bar, and then select "Recognize Text Using OCR". The OCR engine will scan through the document and convert all image characters into rendered text. A notification dialog box will appear when the OCR engine has finished.
- 3). Click "Finish" to close the OCR interface.
- 4). Click "File," and then click "Save" to save the document with changes.
- 1). Open the MDI document in the Microsoft Document Imaging program.
- 2). Click the "Tools" option from the top navigation menu.
- 3). Click the "Text to Word" option. A file navigation window will launch.
- 4). Navigate to and select an existing Word document, or click "New" to create a new document.
- 5). Click "OK" to paste the text from the MDI document into the Word document and save the document.
