- 1). Click "Start" then "My Computer."
- 2). Find the folder that used to contain the file you deleted.
- 3). Right-click the folder and click "Restore Previous Versions." Right-click the drive where the folder was located if the file was located at the top level of a drive and click "Restore Previous Versions." This opens a list of available previous versions of the file or folder.
- 4). Double-click a previous version of the file or folder you wish to restore.
- 5). Drag the file that you want to restore to another location like your desktop or another folder on your computer. The old file will be saved in this location and can be accessed in its original version.
