There is no one that can give us inner peace and only our own thoughts can rob us of it.
To have or experience inner peace we do not have to go on a retreat to some special place.
We can have inner peace right here, right now.
It is very important to value the importance of because when it is valued it becomes much easier to gain it.
Here are some suggestions that I use to find my inner peace: 1.
If you have a spare 15 minutes, take the opportunity to take this time to just set and breathe and create 15 minutes of peace rather than to turn on the TV or surf the internet.
Thinking positive thoughts or just breathing does the trick.
We have been programmed in a way that our minds feel insecure if it is not being occupied but this is an illusion and you can soon get past this programming with this peaceful practice on a daily basis.
2.
Simplify your life by minimizing the demands that are put upon you from other sources.
There are many things that we can do without.
We have a tenancy to elude ourselves at times with unnecessary tasks and responsibilities.
Keep your daily tasks simple and enjoyable as much as possible.
Avoid cluttering your life with unnecessary tasks, activities or worries.
3.
Release your dependency on others to make you feel good.
If the depend on the opinions of others we cannot find the inner peace we seek.
Both flattery and criticism are in the same neck of the woods.
They are both judgments and feed the ego.
So learn to have self confidence and love yourself.
This does not mean to love your self in an egotistical way but to value who you are, your real self and qualities as a connected being of all things.
4.
Control your thoughts! If you are constantly begrudging, criticizing and cherishing negative thoughts your inner peace will always remain far out of sight.
Reprogramming the way you think can take a little bit of time but soon becomes habit and a natural way of being the more you use a positive thought process.
Being conscious of a negative thought then changing it into a positive right away will eventually turn to each thought being a more positive one.
5.
Never judge another no matter what! What we send out comes back; its the way of the universe.
If you are having negative thoughts towards another you are not able to establish peace of mind.
It is okay that others think and feel differently that you.
Just honor that they have their own beliefs and approach them with honor and integrity and this will come back to you.
There are some very simple techniques you can use if you feel yourself getting caught up in the world around you that I have used for years.
We are human and at times we can get caught in the negative thought process.
When this happens breath through your heart, just by pretending that your nose is at your heart and taking a deep breath takes you out of your head and into your heart.
So in essence you are taking your thoughts out of the ego self and into your heart as you think.
Research has also revealed that the heart communicates information to the brain and throughout the body via electromagnetic field interactions.
The heart generates the bodys most powerful and most extensive rhythmic electromagnetic field.
The hearts magnetic component is about 500 times stronger than the brains magnetic field and can be detected several feet away from the body.
It was proposed that, this heart field acts as a carrier wave for information that provides a global synchronizing signal for the entire body (ref: McCraty, Bradley & Tomasino, 2004) Applying pressure just above your eyebrows on your forehead is also a good tool to use.
As we think negatively sometimes it triggers our fight or flight instinct sending most of the blood from our brain to our limbs and other areas triggering a fight or flight reaction.
There are pressure points in this area of our forehead that bring the blood back to our brain and relaxes our bodies.
Have you ever noticed when someone such as a child is crying they cup their hands over their eyes with there fingertips just above their brow...
well this is a natural instinct to calm ourselves.
I would say that we owe it to ourselves to slow down, take a deep breath and find some inner peace each day of our lives.
