Love the flavor of orange but since going sugar free are you leery of indulging in too many fruits? Fruits are a great source of fiber and are naturally without refined sugars. In my opinion and since I've been sugar free of processed sugars for the last 11 years I can say that the sugar in fruits doesn't cause me to have sugar cravings. I do limit how much fruit I eat in a day limiting myself to 1-2 pieces of a fruit serving only because I am watching how many carbs I eat in a day. If you are not concerned with the amount of carbs you eat then fruit is a great snack to indulge in. If you are watching your carb intake you will need to limit fruits.
This recipe can be adapted to use real orange juice in place of the Powerade Zero I used. Powerade Zero is a brand of beverages that are low in carbs using Erythritol as the sweetener to sweeten them. They do not contain any fruit juice and they come in many different flavors. They are only mildy sweet which is why I prefer them myself. These are the preferred beverage in our house that I let my children enjoy.
This sorbet is light and easy to make as long as you have an ice cream machine. If you don't have an ice cream machine you can blend the mixture and simply pour them into popsicle molds.
You could also use a natural sugar if you prefer like honey.
My favorite sweetener in no bake kind of recipes is always liquid stevia. Sweetleaf is the brand I prefer and I love the variety of flavors they offer. I am using the coconut flavor here but you can choose another sugar free option of you prefer. I buy online through iherb.com which is much cheaper but also it is difficult to find the flavored kinds at local markets. If you've never bought through their website you can receive $5.00 off by using my discount code which is YAJ035.
