Group Name Juggle

• For an icebreaker, start with a group name juggle to get all the players familiar with each other's names. Have all the players stand in a circle and hand one player a soft foam ball. That player has to say his name and toss the ball to someone else in the circle. The player who catches the ball will say his name and pass the ball to someone else. After each player has said his own name at least twice, the players have to say the player's name he tosses the ball to before he tosses it. This helps everyone remember names and become acquainted.
  
  

Sand Boot Toss

• Fill two child-size rubber boots with play sand and cover the top with duct tape, so the sand does not fall out. Mark a starting line and have all the children line up at the starting line. Have each child toss a boot from the starting line and mark where it lands. Give each child two tosses and the player who tosses the boot the farthest distance wins the game.
  
  

Cotton Ball Pick-Up

• Scatter several cotton balls around the play area and place a glob of petroleum jelly on the end of each player's nose. Write each player's name on a plastic cup and place it at the starting line. The players have to line up at the starting line next to their cup. When you say, "Go," the players have to place their hands behind their back and walk to a cotton ball. They have to bend down to pick the cotton ball up with their nose and bring it back to their plastic cup. They can use their hands to pull the cotton ball off their nose into their cup. After two minutes, the player with the most cotton balls in her cup wins the game.
  
  

Balloon Balance

• Give each child an inflated balloon and have him practice balancing the balloon on one finger. After they practice for about five minutes, see who can balance the balloon on his finger for the longest amount of time. The player's finger has to stay in contact with the balloon at all times. The player who can balance the balloon the longest wins the game.
