- 1). Download a virtual drive manager and install it on your computer. Several links to freeware programs have been included in the "Resources" section of this article.
- 2). Restart your computer once you have finished installing your program. This will complete the installation process and start the virtual drive manager automatically once your system restarts.
- 3). Right-click the virtual drive manager in the system tray portion of your taskbar.
- 4). Position your mouse over the "Virtual Drives" option. This may also be called "Mount an Image" or something similar. Once you position your mouse pointer over the menu, a second menu will pop out to the side.
- 5). Position your cursor over the available virtual drive. This will typically be labeled as "Device 0" or "Drive 0." This will pop out a third menu.
- 6). Click the "Mount" option. This will bring up a "Browse For" dialog box.
- 7). Navigate your ISO file's location on your hard drive, then select it and click "Open."
- 8). Open "My Computer." You will now see your virtual drive listed among your computer's CD drives. You may now open and explore the ISO file as if it were a physical CD in a physical drive.
