- 1). Lift the mower deck to the highest possible cutting height. Drive the Dixon riding lawn mower to a flat surface. Put it in park and turn it off. Disconnect the spark plug wire so there is no chance the lawn mower will start up while you are working on it.
- 2). Use a wrench to turn the bolt holding the cutting blades in place counterclockwise. Remove the blade bolt and cutting blade from the cutter housing.
- 3). Put the new cutting blade onto the cutting housing. Make sure that you follow the directions on the blade with regards to which way it should be attached. The blade should either tell you which side faces the ground or which side faces the lawn mower.
- 4). Replace the blade bolt and tighten it as much as you can. This bolt needs to be very tight so that the blades do not come off when you turn the lawn mower back on. Reconnect the spark plug and start the Dixon riding lawn mower.
