CEREC and Its Uses
Technology has clearly affected everything surrounding us. It includes even cosmetic dentistry, which has been affected by a process called CEREC. It is a process used in restorations and denotes Chair side Economical Restoration of Esthetics Ceramics. In the past, dental restoration was a very tough since majority of restoration work was quite erroneous and each calculation was performed with the help of equipment that might not be most appropriate for the task at hand. But with the advent of technology in this field, the entire situation has been altered. With the hekp of CEREC technology, the dentists now can produce crowns and veneers with very high accuracy.
CEREC technology employs 3-D imaging, CAD, CAM and other proprietary software to calculate the measurements of every dental substitute. These are few of the benefits of employing CEREC in cosmetic dentistry:
Time required for the procedure:
With this technology patients requiring crown or veneer substitutes can get the whole procedure done in only one visit, cosmetic dentists who don't employ this procedure will ultimately end up frittering away their time as they must size the substitutes so as to produce new ones. This is impossible to do in a single day without having to resort to technology.
Reduced unease and pain:
As the technology is highly effective, the number of injections and drilling is reduced only to the bare minimum needed in a single visit. The cosmetic dentist can access all the required information to design substitutes without making the patient uneasy in any way.
Resources used in substitutes:
After the substitutes have been sized up the production of veneers and crowns is very simple and quick, automatic machines can produce superior, tailored substitutes by using the excellent resources found today like ceramic, porcelain and other composite resins in hardly any time.
The CEREC technology is so fast that once a patient's mouth has been photographed, the data collected is examined by a computer, handled and ultimately a machine can produce the substitutes within 4 - 20 minutes rather than waiting for many days to get the work finished. Due to this, this technology has been widely embraced by cosmetic dentists throughout the world.
