Kids Spider Halloween Costume Ideas

    Itsy Bitsy Spider

    • Create a pint-sized spider costume for young children by using a black onesie as the base of the costume. Then stuff four long black socks with polyester stuffing (found at a sewing or craft supply store) and sew them onto the sides of the black onesie, two on each side underneath the arms. Add black pants and a black beanie to keep your little itsy bitsy baby warm while out on Halloween.

    Little Miss Spider

    • All spider costumes don't have to look creepy; create a girly version with pink fabrics and lots of frill. Use two pairs of pink footed leggings and stuff them with polyester stuffing. Use a pink sweatshirt for the base of the costume. Sew a white belly on the spider using a piece of white felt fabric cut out into the shape of a circle. Sew the stuffed footed leggings onto the sweatshirt for the spider legs and then sew a pink feather boa around the neck of the sweatshirt. Cut a small row of pointed teeth from white felt and then glue those onto the front edge of the hood of the sweatshirt.

    Spider Man

    • For that super hero fan, a Spider Man costume is the perfect thing to wear on Halloween. Make a simple Spider Man costume by having you child wear blue spandex bottoms with a red spandex top. Then create a web and logo onto the clothing using a black Sharpie marker. Don't forget red boots and a red beanie with cutouts for the eyes and mouth to complete the look.

    Spooky Spider Web

    • For this spooky spider, you only need to use three things. Start the costume with an orange sweat suit. Then, create a web on the sweatshirt by gluing a black ribbon around the width of the sweatshirt beginning near the top of the zipper and working your way around the shoulders, across the back, over the second shoulder and then to the front, gluing every few inches as you go. Repeat, making about five circles total on the sweatshirt. Cut shorter pieces of black ribbon to encircle the lower arms and glue in place. Then cut ribbons to fit between the arms and sides of the shirt, cutting the ribbon long enough to stretch out between the arms and the sides. Glue these pieces of ribbon in place before hot-gluing a large black spider to the front of the costume.
