Five Reasons to Convert Your Cine Film to DVD

If you are looking for a way to transfer cine film to DVD format, there are several companies available that will transfer the cine film for you into easily used DVD formats for a cheaper cost than you might get using more expensive services. Cine film is a great vintage collectable, but these days, not everyone has the equipment to view it, and if you are looking to get the best picture quality available, cine film transferred to DVD is able to be manipulated to be viewed in the highest quality. Transferring all your collected cine film to DVD format is the way to go if you want to preserve that film for viewing in the future. If you are on the fence about whether or not you should transfer your cine film to DVD, here are a few reasons why you should do so.

1. Preserves the Memory longer.
Cine films degrade over time; it's a fact. Even if you are extremely careful and follow all the steps to protect your film footage, it can still degrade. Only by converting your cine films to DVD can you ensure the content on them will stay for a long time. It is an easy to keep all those memories without risking degrading the film you already have, and will also ensure that you never lose what was on those films in the first place.

2. Protects your Cine Film from Further Damage.
As previously stated, using cine film over and over will lead to your Cine film degrading. If you have vintage footage and you want to keep it in top condition, yet still view its contents, getting the contents transferred to a DVD will allow you to watch it without damaging your vintage cine film footage any further.

3. You can have it sent to you in several formats.
That's the great thing about several of these services that transfer cine film—they don't just transfer it to DVD. They also can put it on BluRay, make it an HD file sent to your computer, etc. So you can transfer it to whatever format suits you and your needs best. Plus, if it is send to a file on your computer, you can always transfer it to another file type later, using computer programs that allow you to do so.

4. You can continue to play it if your equipment fails.
Since Cine film is no longer used, it is getting harder and harder to find the equipment to play it. This is more true for less used cine film formats, like 9mm film or certain types of 15mm or than the standard, more popular 8mm, but as time goes by, it will be harder to find 8mm film equipment as well. So to ensure that you can always play these films even if your equipment to play them fails, transferring your cine film to DVD or other formats will keep them playable no matter what happens.

5. It is easy, can be cheaper than you anticipate.
Depending on the company and service, it can be cheaper than you would have anticipated. Several services offer either "by the length of film" or "by the foot", and depending upon what payment works for you, it can be a lot cheaper than you anticipated. Also because there is no real reason not to do it—transferring to DVD does not damage the film in anyway, and also ensures you have another copy of your footage in case something happens to it.
