Over the years, weddings have increasingly moved away from tradition with many couples choosing alternative 'destination' weddings that will create magical 'one of a kind' memories to last a lifetime.
Today, weddings in Cornwall have become very popular. Many weddings in Cornwall offer packages that give couples a more economical wedding option, as well as one that is unique, beautiful, and relaxing. To set the scene, a bride, standing in front of loved ones looking everything like the princess she wanted to be in an elegant ivory white gown, the groom, handsome and proud in his top hat and tails are about to marry. They have the blue sea, they have the palm tress, they have the blue sky and all their family and friends with them. However this is not the Caribbean, this is Cornwall, England.
Weddings in Cornwall are becoming so popular because guests can join in the occasion while also enjoying a coastal vacation of their own but not having to travel overseas. Weddings abroad are often very expensive resulting in some family members not being able to attend the big day due to financial restrictions or being out of pocket if they do decide to go. This can add unwanted stress to wedding preparations and so many couples are now opting for the wedding by the coast but in the UK where their family can all attend. The Cornish coast boasts magical and breathtaking scenery, a truly romantic setting and with the recent improvements to the road, air and train routes, Cornwall is now very accessible for everyone.
Cornwall currently has more than 70 approved venues for civil ceremonies in the county, with an increasing list of applications for those who want to be registered. Cornwall's chief registrar, Janet Wynne, said: "We've seen a 30% increase in the number of weddings since 1995. We feel we can offer a lovely destination which would also make a lovely honeymoon venue because of many new facilities and new attractions, such as the Eden Project and the Tate Gallery in St Ives. What we can do is encourage people to have whatever they want at their wedding. They can have it as elaborate or as quiet as they want, as long as the ceremony is dignified."
Many couples are choosing Falmouth for a wedding in Cornwall but some of the registered wedding venues in Cornwall may raise eyebrows such as the Poldark Tin Mine, near Helston with hard hats required for all attending. Unlike years gone by, couples now no longer have to get married in the parish where they live. To be married at the venue of choice they have to give a Notice of Marriage in their home area and then book their place of marriage afterwards.
Weddings in Cornwall has everything required to make the day as perfect as possible with abundance of beautiful flower supplies, wedding organizers, professional photographers, discos and live bands and with a fantastic selection of Hotels in Cornwall, Falmouth to choose from for guests staying nearby, it is not hard to see why Cornwall is becoming a very popular wedding destination.
