Hi. I'm Angela Price from Eden Condensed small space garden design, and this is garden space. Today I'm going to give you some tips on how to treat and prevent diseases on your inside plants, on your indoor plants. I've got this beautiful corn plant here. And usually indoor plants don't get too many diseases. But sometime people like to keep their indoor plants outdoors during the summer for a little bit or you have a lot of plants together or you bring one in that happens to have something and then your other plants get infected. So one of the things you want to make sure that you do is to occasionally check the leaves of your plants. Really look underneath the leaves. A lot of times you'll get mites in house plants. So you want to look for anything that's unusual. If you've got drying tips on your leaves that's usually an indication that the plant doesn't have enough moisture on it which means it probably wants to be next to another plant or get an occasional misting from a sprayer with just some plain water. Make sure that your plant has enough water but not too much water. If it's soaking in water it does tend to get mildewed and that will also damage the plant. In the event that you do find that you have mites on your plants if there is any kind of mildew, or any other kind of insect infestation, the firs thing you want to do is to remove any of the insects, if you have spiders or anything like that. Try to hand pick those off if you can. And then just get a plain paper towel and you can first start with just some plain water and wiping the leaves off. Because that a lot of time will just take care of getting rid of the situation. A couple of other natural remedies you can use though is a couple of tablespoons of white distilled vinegar in some water, or a tablespoon of baking soda and about a quarter to a half a teaspoon of dish soap in a bottle of water. And then again, just spray it on a paper towel and wipe your leaves down. And you'll want to do that maybe every couple of days once a week just until the situation has remedied itself. And then make sure that you are keeping the plant's leaves clean. You don't want to use these remedies on indoor plants like African violets or anything that has a fuzzy leaf, because it actually will damage the leaves. So if you have any other questions on natural remedies to prevent diseases on indoor plants, please contact me at www.edencondensed.com. Thank you very much.
