- 1). Park the car on a flat and solid surface.
- 2). Use the tire iron to loosen the lug nuts on the wheels on the end of the car where you are changing the brakes.
- 3). Use the floor jack to lift the car by the frame.
- 4). Place a jack stand under the frame next to each wheel well and lower the car onto the jack stands.
- 5). Use the tire iron to fully remove the lug nuts and remove the tires.
- 1). Use the wrench and socket set to remove the brake assembly bolts.
- 2). Slide the screwdriver between the assembly and the brake rotor and pry upwards to remove the assembly from the rotor.
- 3). Knock out the brake pads from the assembly using the end of the screwdriver.
- 4). Scrape off any debris using the screwdriver, paying particular attention to the brake pad tracks.
- 5). Insert the new brake pads into the brake pad tracks on the assembly in the same orientation as the old ones.
- 6). Place the assembly over the brake rotor and insert the bolts to hold it in place.
- 7). Tighten the bolts using the wrench and socket set.
- 1). Repeat the procedure for the brake pads on the other side of the car.
- 2). Place the tires on the axle hubs and screw on the lug nuts evenly to fully set the tires in place.
- 3). Jack up the end of the car.
- 4). Remove the jack stands.
- 5). Lower the car to the ground.
- 6). Use the tire iron to tighten all of the lug nuts.
