- 1). Navigate to the Resizr website (see Resources). Click the "Choose File" button, then use the file explorer window to navigate to the picture that you want to resize for AIM. Double-click the picture to return to Resizr, then click the "Upload Image" button. This will open a new page showing the full-sized version of the image. Enter "48" in both the "Width" and "Height" boxes, then click "Resize My Image." Right-click the image and select "Save Image As" to save the image to your computer.
- 2). Use PicResize to resize pictures for AIM (see Resources). Click the "Choose File" button, then use the file explorer window to open the picture. Double-click the picture, then click the "Continue" button. Scroll down to the "Resize Your Picture" section near the bottom of the page. Click the drop-down menu and select "Custom Size." Click the drop-down menus next to both "Width" and "Height" and select "Pixels." Enter "48" into both boxes, then click "I'm Done, Resize My Picture" to resize the picture for AIM. Click the "Save to Disk" button in the new window to save the image.
- 3). Resize pictures for AIM using Shrink Pictures (see Resources). Click the "Choose File" button, then double-click the picture you want to resize in the window that opens. Enter "48" in the box next to "Set the Avatar Size," then click the "Resize" button. Right-click the picture in the new window and select "Save Image As" to save the image to your hard drive.
