How to Troubleshoot KitchenAid Stove Error Readings

    • 1). Reset the display from "Err," which appears after an invalid pad or combination of pads was pressed, by pressing "OFF" and then re-entering your desired action.

    • 2). Enter multiple stove functions slowly so the control pads do not get jammed or display an "Err" message. Pause briefly between each pad command and do not press a pad repeatedly, which will briefly incapacitate the pad. In that case you must wait several seconds before attempting to program the desired function again. Clear and reset the control display, if necessary, by pressing the "OFF" pad and starting over.

    • 3). Correct an error code of "F0" by disconnecting electrical power to the stove and waiting 5 seconds before reconnecting it. This code signifies an internal error in the controls, and the power break should clear the circuit.

    • 4). Clear an error code of "F2," "C2" or "C3" by turning off the stove and allowing it to cool to a safe operating temperature. Once the stove cools, the error code will automatically clear from the display. The stove also can turn itself off if it gets too hot.

    • 5). Respond to an "F4" code by moving the cooking pots or pans farther from the control panel because it is overheating. After moving the pans, turn off the closest burners and allow at least 5 minutes for the error code to clear itself.

    • 6). Understand that an "F8" code means the stove will shut itself off because it has been in operation too long or has become too hot. The code will disappear when the stove can safely be turned on again.

    • 7). Be aware that an error code of "F9" or "F9 E0" indicates that the electrical outlet the stove is plugged into may be incorrectly wired. You should have an electrician verify the proper power hook-ups for your model.

    • 8). Observe that an error code of "C1" signifies that the voltage coming into the stove is too low. Turn off all the stove burners and the oven and wait for 5 seconds before turning the stove back on. This corrects the response to an intermittent loss of voltage. Call an electrician if this error code appears repeatedly.
