- 1). Assemble your materials from your local home improvement store. If you do not have a drill press, your local store may drill a few pieces of brass pipe for you if you purchase the material from them. You can find crystal prisms online or at your local craft supply store.
- 2). Cut two sections of brass pipe measuring 2 feet long. You can get all of the brass pipes you need for this project from a standard 12-foot brass pipe. Cut two pipes 18 inches long and three pipes 1 foot long each.
- 3). Cut a length of copper tubing measuring 20 inches long. Cut three more lengths of copper 12 inches long.
- 4). Drill 16 1/8 inch holes in the 18-inch copper tubing. Bend the copper to form a circle. Copper tubing is soft, so you should be able to do this easily. This is the top piece of your wind chimes, so if you prefer an "S" shape or anything other than a circle, it's up to you.
- 5). Drill 1/8 inch holes 1 inch from one end of each of the brass pipes and remaining copper tubing. Cut 16 12-inch sections of fishing line. Thread one line through each of the brass pipes, crystal prisms and remaining copper tubes, pulling it so that the ends of the fishing line match up evenly.
- 6). Attach the pipes, tubes and crystals to the circular copper tubing by threading the fishing line through the holes and knotting them securely. Intersperse the copper and crystals with the brass pipes to add interest to your wind chimes. You can create a spiral by stepping down the sizes or just mix them all together in a way that pleases you.
- 7). Make a hanger for the wind chimes with fishing line in whatever length suits your purpose.
