- 1). Cover the mattress with a flat or fitted sheet. Daybeds use twin-size mattresses.
- 2). Cover the bed with a daybed cover. Daybed covers are designed to make the daybed look like a sofa. They are usually fitted on one side. Place the cover on top of the bed and slide the fitted pocket around the back of the mattress. Let the sides and front of the cover hang down to the floor.
- 3). Use a daybed comforter set. Daybed sets usually include a comforter, bedskirt and shams. Remove the mattress, drape the bedskirt on the boxspring and arrange it around the sides. Replace the mattress. Place the comforter on top of the mattress and adjust it so the front end falls just over the top of the bedskirt. Tuck the comforter into the back and sides of the mattress. Ensure the comforter is smooth on the top and sides of the bed for a neat appearance.
- 4). Fashion a daybed cover out of a decorative sheet. Place a king-size flat sheet on top of the daybed. Pull the sheet to the front of the bed until the edge touches the floor. Adjust the sheet so that there is an equal amount of fabric on left and right side of the bed. Tuck the sheet under back and sides of the bed. Let the front end hang free.
- 5). Complete the arrangement with decorative pillows in matching colors or pillows in matching shams.
