Easy Flowers to Take Care of

    Daylilies

    • Daylilies are an easy maintenance flower. Although daylilies blooms last just for one day, their flowers add color to your garden. Their blooms come in most colors, with exception of blue. Flowers form in clusters that generally bloom at different times. These plants need nutrient-rich soil that has been amended with manure or compost and that also has good drainage. These perennials tend to produce more flowers when planted in areas that get at least six hours of sun daily. According to Flower Gardening Made Easy, daylilies frequently bloom the first year planted and disperse quickly to develop into condensed clusters.

    Siberian Iris

    • The Siberian iris is considered an easy-care perennial by Flower Gardening Made Easy. It produces subtle, flowers with six petals that stand on tall stems extending up to 36 inches tall. Each stem usually yields between two and five flowers. Siberian irises feature blue, violet, purple, white, cream and yellow blooms that bloom in mid-to-late spring. These flowers tolerate most soil types so long as it's alkaline-free. Plant them in areas of full sun if your garden faces north, but place them in partly shaded areas when your garden looks south.

    Geraniums

    • Geraniums easily grow in most gardens and yards. Their flowers bloom in the late spring and usually last all summer long. Geraniums produce flowers in shades of pink, white, blue, lilac and magenta. Blooms are about 2 inches in diameter. Geraniums are hardy flowers that grow in full sun as well as partly shaded areas. You can plant them in just about any type of soil that provides good drainage. Disease and pests seldom affect geraniums. These plants need ample spacing as they can grow up to 3 feet tall.
