Academy Award nominee Virginia Madsen ("Sideways") has joined the cast of "The Wrong Element," starring Harrison Ford and Paul Bettany. Warner Bros.' "The Wrong Element" will be directed by Richard Loncraine and produced by Armyan Bernstein, Jon Shestack and Basil Iwanyk producing.

Madsen will play Harrison Ford's wife. Ford stars as a security expert whose wife and child are kidnapped in order to make him steal from a bank he's supposed to be protecting.

Paul Bettany takes on the role of the main bad guy.
