- Greet your children with Easter decorations on the door of your classroom. If you don't have a door you could use these ideas on a wall in your Sunday School. Create an empty tomb mural on your door. Cut out brown paper from a roll to cover your door. Around the sides of the door add more brown paper to create the illusion of a large stone. Use a wide black marker to or some craft paint to create an open door in the stone. This will remind children of the stone being rolled away from the tomb of Jesus. Or you could cover your door with lots of paper Easter lilies.
- Decorate any bulletin boards you may have in your Sunday School. Instead of paper decorations make a 3-D bulletin board. Cover your bulletin board with blue paper to make it look like the sky. Then make puffy clouds by tearing pieces of white tissue paper and gluing them to the board. Put the words "He is Risen" in the center of the board. Another 3-D bulletin board idea is to make make three puffy crosses out of brown tissue paper. You could recreate a tomb scene and cut out a small door that the children can open and shut. Use brown paper bag material for this project.
- On the main table or teacher's table of the Sunday School place an Easter diorama. This would also be a good craft idea for kids. You could display them all. Create an Easter inspired table scape by placing three crosses on the table. Place the largest cross in the middle. Buy some wooden standing crosses and tap tiny nails into the them. Fold a yard of purple satin type material around the base of the crosses. The purple represents the royalty of Jesus. Or place an Easter basket in the center of the table and fill it with religious novelty toys and treats. You can easily find these online or in party supply stores. Easter flowers and white candles aren't just for grown ups. Kids would love to have Sunday School by candlelight.
