- 1). Place a mixture of one part acetone to one part water in a bucket large enough to hold your rocks. Add the rocks to the bucket. Allow to soak for approximately 24 hours.
- 2). Remove rocks from acetone mixture and place them in a rock tumbler. Add a few tablespoons of mild soap to the tumbler along with enough water to cover the rocks. Turn the tumbler on and allow it to run for one full day.
- 3). Empty the tumbler and the remove rocks. Wipe the tumbler to get rid of any leftover soap or grime from the rocks.
- 4). Add the rocks back into the tumbler and turn it on to complete the tumbling process. Add grit or other materials as needed to polish the stones.
