After one week out of the top, OMI shoulders The Weeknd aside and returns for a fifth week at #1.
The Weeknd need not be too upset. His song "The Hills" surges into the top 5 to make him the first male solo artist to have simultaneous top 5 hits since B.o.B. did the same with "Airplanes" and "Nothin' On You" back in 2010. Major Lazer rises to #4 this week giving "Lean On" its highest peak so far. Ed Sheeran is looking for a fourth top 10 hit from his album x as "Photograph" climbs four more notches to #15 this week. Demi Lovato jumps up four places this week with her sixth top 20 pop hit "Cool For the Summer." Lana Del Rey is back this week with her seventh chart single. The Weeknd holds on to his top spot at mainstream pop radio even though "Can't Feel My Face" loses the overall crown. Major Lazer jumps a pair of notches to #3 this week with "Lean On." Selena Gomez also makes a bid to have a top of the chart challenger in a few weeks as "Good For You" slips into the top 5. One Direction have another pop radio hit on their hands. The new single "Drag Me Down" bumps up six big notches in its third week on the chart. Actress Hailee Steinfeld, who appears in the hit film Pitch Perfect 2, has her first pop hit single with "Love Myself" opening at a strong #27. The Weeknd also opens this week with the already platinum selling single "The Hills." It is in the top 5 on the overall pop singles chart, and the new radio support will likely help it climb even higher.
