- 1). Turn off the water supply faucet.
- 2). Attach a the main line pipe to the valve of the water source you want to use. You will need to have several lengths of pipe if you plan to have more than one drip line.
- 3). Attach the drip lines to the main line pipe with a T-shaped pipe connector. Fit the main line into one horizontal arm, the drip line into the vertical arm and the next length of main line piping to the other horizontal arm.
- 4). Connect as many drip lines to the main line as you want. On the connection for the last drip line, use an elbow joint. This is shaped like an L instead of a T, and will stop the water from leaking out.
- 5). Install emitters along the drip lines. These are small nozzles that allow the water to exit the drip lines at the correct speed.
- 6). Plug the end of each drip line with a plastic end cap to keep the water inside the pipe.
- 7). Lay the drip lines between rows of vegetables or around plants and flowers.
