- 1). Paint the walls. Pink is one of those colors for which a little can go a long way, especially on the walls. To keep the room from having too much pink in it, paint all the walls in an egg-shell or cream color except for one wall. That will be an accent wall. Paint it a bright pink color.
- 2). Add a pink dresser and desk to the room. The color should be comparable to the color that is on the accent wall. If you don't want to purchase furniture, paint existing furniture pink. You can use the same paint that you used for the wall. However, you may first have to sand down the furniture.
- 3). Decorate the bed using pink and white. The sheets and pillow cases should be white, and you can add a pink comforter, plain or with polka-dots, to the top of the bed. Accent the bed with pink and white throw pillows.
- 4). Hang up pictures in the room. You can use whatever you like, but feminine prints like butterflies, princesses or flowers work well. You can purchase shiny, pink frames, or if you have older frames that are different colors, you can paint them pink.
- 5). Add two floor lamps to the room. They should be an off-white color. In addition, add a pink desk lamp to her desk. For a fun idea, use pink light-bulbs in the floor lamps.
- 6). Place a lighter pink rug on the floor. The color of the rug should be a more pastel pink color. The rug can be placed towards the middle of the room. Alternately, you can place two smaller throw rugs in the kid's room.
