After reading Meno it is difficult to define the word virtue.
By saying that virtue is a kind of wisdom or knowledge it means that they are very similar traits that can depend on each other.
Virtue is all encompassing meaning that you must possess an amount of wisdom or knowledge in order to be virtuous.
However it is entirely possible to have vast amounts of knowledge or wisdom without being virtuous at the same time.
Virtue seems to embody so many different characteristics that knowledge of its osmosis process is unknown even to Socrates as seen in Meno.
We know that goodness always surrounds virtue.
Virtue is always a good trait.
Virtue is different from traits like health, beauty, and strength because they can sometimes be harmful.
Beauty is a characteristic most people highly value but being attractive could also have its drawbacks such as a higher likelihood of being targeted by a sexual predator as a child.
It would be easy to draw similar analogies on strength and health but virtue is an entirely different beast.
If a person is harmful or making poor decisions they most certainly cannot be a person a virtue.
In order to be virtuous you can only have good, positive, and beneficial actions.
Therefore any virtuous person in their essence is a good person because if they did any bad things they would no longer be virtuous.
Analyzing the roots of virtue and where it is derived is very important on anyone's path towards virtue.
Virtue has such great value it is crucial as aspiring virtuous people to ponder whether virtue is taught, innate, or inspired by a personal experience.
Seeking to be taught virtue would prove to be foolish.
Teachers themselves cannot agree and pin point a definition of what virtue truly is.
Believing that virtue is innate or procured from personal experiences could also be a trap.
I believe that constantly self improving by being more aware and reflecting on those observations is a fast track to virtue.
