- 1). Upgrade your Runescape subscription to a paid membership. Becoming a member of Runescape gives you access to the full version of the game as well as enabling special features, including the ability to have dragon equipment and weapons.
- 2). Obtain Rune armor. Rune armor is the highest level armor available without a subscription to the game. You must achieve this armor level before you can upgrade to dragon armor.
- 3). Reach a level 60 for your defense levels. The higher your defense level, the harder it is for an opponent to harm you. Increase your defense level by using the defensive attack style in combat.
- 4). Complete the Legends Quest and the Recipe for Disaster Quest. You cannot get the dragon square shield until you complete the Legends Quest. You have to complete the Recipe for Disaster Quest before you can get the dragon gloves.
- 5). Train for smithing to raise your skill level to 92. In order to get the dragon square shield, you need a smithing level of 60. And the dragon platebody requires a smithing level of 92. You will also need a blast fusion hammer for the dragon platebody.
- 6). Get a lot of coins. Dragon armor is some of the most expensive equipment in Runescape. While the dragon gauntlets are only 45,700 coins, the dragon platebody is 11,600,000 coins.
