Located within the Olympic National Forest and adjacent to Olympic National Park, Lake Quinault is a picturesque spot for camping and enjoying outdoor pursuits. Elk, black bears, cougars, deer and waterfowl make their homes in the temperate rain forest. The forest itself is composed of huge ancient trees including Western Red Cedar, Douglas Fir and Sitka Spruce. Enjoy campgrounds that accommodate both tents and RVs and 10 miles of hiking trails near the lake. - Find 27 tent and RV sites at Falls Creek, some of which overlook the lake. Tent campers reach nine of the campsites by crossing a foot bridge over the creek. RVs up to 16 feet in length have easy access; however, pull-through sites and RV hook-ups are not available. Campers can use seven water spigots, scattered around the grounds. Catch-and-release fishing is allowed, and anglers often catch Dolly Varden, cutthroat and rainbow trout and Quinault salmon. Sail on Lake Quinault and enjoy the campground's boat ramp and carry-down access. The United States Forest Service maintains the grounds and does not accept reservations.
