- 1). Adjust the rough level of the sawmill. Crank the individual legs of the sawmill in an up-and-down motion to make a level cutting plane, even if the ground underneath the machine is not flat.
- 2). Load the logs onto the cutting bed of the sawmill with a manual wrench. Turn the wheel of the manual wrench in a counterclockwise motion to lift the log over the rails onto the cutting bed of the sawmill.
- 3). Lift the ends of a tapered log to make even cuts through the log. Turn the hand crank clockwise to raise the end of the log, and turn it counterclockwise to lower the end of the log.
- 4). Rotate the logs, using the manual rotator under the center of the cutting bed. Turn the crank to rotate the log to the desired position.
- 5). Pull the joystick upward on the optional hydraulic lift to load the log onto the cutting bed. Pull the joystick downward on the optional hydraulic life to unload the log from the cutting bed.
- 6). Program the head movement of the saw and blade guide arm at the central console, after the log is loaded to the cutting bed.
- 7). Select the thickness of your cut on the Accuset menu located on top of the central console. Press the “Upward Arrow” and “Downward Arrow” to adjust the thickness of your cut. The thickness is displayed on the LED screen on the Accuset menu.
- 8). Cut a few slices from the top of the log. Rotate the log 180 degrees to cut a few slices from the opposite side of the log. Rotate the log 90 degrees to cut a few slices for the adjacent side of the log. Rotate the log to the last side and cut the final slices to make a rectangular piece of lumber to cut even planks.
