As the winter weather pounds down on most of us, the pounds always seem to pack on. Believe it or not, spring and summer is right around the corner and it is never too early nor too late to get that beach body we all dream of. In this article, I am going to give you a few tips on how to lose your gut and get washboard abs.
1. Diet -
This is the most crucial part of losing your gut. Fresh fruits and vegetables as well as six small portion meals a day is definitely the way to go. Avoid a large dinner because most people aren't active after eating dinner.
Eat breakfast. many people tend to skip breakfast because they don't have time for it. This has to be one of the worst things you can do. Even just a small breakfast. You do not want to eat a massive lunch, due to the fact you most likely you will suffer from after meal drowsiness.
2. Cardio -
Again, another very important aspect of losing your gut. A common misconception most people have is sit ups is the answer to a perfect stomach. While situps are important it is also important to implement other cardio exercises in your routine such as running, jogging, riding a bicycle, dancing, and playing sports just to name a few.
3. Weight Training -
This is a very important aspect of your training and is often overlooked. The more muscle your body has, the more calories it burns. If you only do cardio exercises without weight training you may lose muscle mass, including the muscle in your abs.
4. Water -
Think of water as fuel for your body.To find out how much water you need to drink as a minimum per day, halve your weight (in pounds) and that is how many ounces of water you need to drink. So a 150lb person would need to drink a minimum of 2.2 liters a day. It sounds like an absurd amount of water, but actually, you can drink tea without sugar to make up some of the quota. For fat loss purposes, it is important to remind yourself that thirst is a much weaker stimulus than hunger. If you consistently feel hungry after meals, don't immediately think that you need to eat more. You may simply be thirsty!
Remember, it is an impossible to get washboard abs. it is very easy to give up and become frustrated. Just remember one thing " anything worth having, is worth the effort."
To your health and happiness!
