How to Reinstall Trend Micro

    Remove Conflicting Programs

    • 1). Click the desktop "Start" menu in Windows XP. Select the "Control Panel."

    • 2). Select "Add or Remove Programs."

    • 3). Select to remove the previously installed Trend Micro product, or any other anti-virus programs that could cause a conflict with Trend Micro. For a list of programs that will conflict with your Trend Micro installation, see Resources.

    • 4). Hit "Change/Remove" and follow the uninstallation prompts. If you need to remove more than one program, wait until the selected program has completely uninstalled before selecting to uninstall the next one.

    Reinstall Trend Micro

    • 1). Insert the installation disc into the CD/DVD/Blu-ray drive. Click the "Install Program" option in the installation window. If installing a downloaded file, click the download link associated with your website. Select to save the file to your desktop when prompted. Once the file has been saved, double-click the downloaded file on your desktop to begin installation.

    • 2). Accept the license agreement when prompted. Click "Next."

    • 3). Type in the product serial number when prompted to install the full version of the software. If re-installing a limited, trial version, click "Install a free trial." Click "Next."

    • 4). Select "Regular Installation," which is recommended, or "Custom Installation" for more advanced users. Click "Next."

    • 5). Activate the subscription when prompted. Select to sign in to your Trend Micro account and enter your username and password. If you have never created an account, click to "Create a new account" and enter your name, location, email address, username and password into the corresponding fields. Click "Next," and a window will appear confirming the activation of the Trend Micro software on the computer.
