- 1). Open Norton Antivirus by clicking on its icon either on your desktop or in the system tray.
- 2). Click on the "Options" or "Settings" button. The button label will vary depending on what version of Norton Antivirus is installed on your computer.
- 3). Select the "Antivirus" setting.
- 4). Click the "On" button, located next to "Auto-Protect." You should see the Auto-Protect feature is now set to "Off."
- 5). Click on "Apply" or "OK" to save your changes. You may receive a warning message that your computer is unprotected. Click "OK."
- 1). Locate the Norton Antivirus icon in the system tray on the bottom or lower right of your computer screen and right-click on the icon.
- 2). Select "Disable Antivirus Auto-Protect."
