Carly ministers to Sonny, all the while criticizing Kate and his relationship with her. Eventually Sonny gets dressed so he can find and kill Karpov. Carly fetches his gun so he won't exhaust himself retrieving it.
Luke and Laura attempt to figure out what they're going to do. Laura wants him to make a choice, and it's obvious that she still wants a life with Luke. Luke doesn't really give her an answer, so Laura asks if he loves Tracy.

He admits that yes, he does, and that the love grew over time. He tells her about his heart operation and Tracy encouraging him to have it. Laura understands, even though it's killing her.

Claudia stops by Kate's room to torture her, saying that once she and Sonny are married, she doesn't expect him to remain faithful, but she won't tolerate him sleeping with Kate. Olivia throws her out. Claudia has left her coat behind, so Olivia brings it out into the hall. Digging through the pockets, she finds Claudia's cell phone. So she calls Karpov and sets up a meeting.

Olivia meets Karpov and confronts him about shooting Kate. He denies it as usual. Olivia strongly suggests that he leave town, but Karpov isn't concerned. Sonny, he says, is no longer a problem.

While the others are off searching, Lulu and Tracy talk. Lulu comments that she doesn't want to see Tracy get hurt. However, Lulu believes that her parents will reconcile. Tracy returns to the hotel and runs into Scott and tells him off for his shortsightedness and literally pushing Luke and Laura together.

Scott doesn't appear bothered.

Laura wants to treat her recovery as permanent and says that she's aware of certain truths. Scott wasn't always a bad guy - Luke made him one. Luke tells Laura that no one could ever replace her in his heart - he is the love of her life, his angel; she made him believe in love. "I was a little girl then," she reminds him. They have both changed. But they agree that as a couple they were "pretty amazing." They kiss.

Jax wants out of his marriage with Carly as quickly as possible after seeing her with Sonny. He spots Jason coming toward him and informs Jason that he never has any time for him. Jason asks, what if this concerns Sam? He wants information about Jerry, which Jax won't give him. It's up to Jason and Spinelli to find Jerry on their own. They soon discover that Jerry ordered a large number of explosives.

Explosives that Jerry is now playing with and planting all over the boat. Sam tries to reason with him, but Jerry is losing it pretty quickly. Or so it seems. He has no intention of blowing himself up. Just Sam, the crew, and a few drugs. He's going to fake his own death and rip off Karpov; he figures the authorities will assume he was also on the boat.

Carly opens her door to Jax, who throws the divorce papers in her face and leaves her looking stunned.

Sonny comes up behind Karpov and orders Olivia to leave. She pretends to, but hides and watches what's going on. Sonny pumps some bullets into Karpov. And kills him.
