- 1). Package the beef jerky in plastic wrap or sealable plastic bags.
- 2). Place the wrapped beef jerky inside of a United States Post Office shipping box, that is at least 5.5 inches high and 9.5 inches long. The length and height of the box must not exceed 46 inches. The width can not exceed 35 inches.
- 3). Stuff the box with padding. This will prevent the beef jerky from being bounced around in the box during shipping and handling. For padding, you can use material such as bubble wrap or Styrofoam.
- 4). Use packing tape to seal the box of beef jerky. Wrap the tape around the box several times to ensure all openings are securely closed.
- 5). Affix the USPS Form 2976 customs form to the side of the box. You can obtain this form from the Post Office. On this form, you must indicate your full name and address, the recipient's full name and address, what you are shipping, the quantity of items, the weight and total value of the items.
- 6). Write the word "Perishable Items" on the outside of the box. The words must be written on the same side of the box that the customs form is affixed to.
- 7). Take the box of beef jerky to the Post Office counter. Pay the necessary shipping fees to mail your package.
- 8). To get your beef jerky to the recipient quicker, choose Express Mail International, Priority Mail International, First Class Mail International or International Airmail. The cost for shipping will vary, depending upon the shipping method you choose.
