- The Order of Chains, led by the Dreadknight Leonid, ensnared the moon in place by binding it with massive chains to keep the moon fixed in one point of the sky. These chains have all sorts of terrible effects, spawning monsters and killing plants across the world. The Liberation Force was founded by Sigmund the Liberator to sever the chains and defeat the Order of Chains. Capell was arrested by the Order of Chains after being mistaken for Sigmund. Aya frees Capell from prison after making the same mistake.
- "Infinite Undiscovery" by tri-Ace has an action-RPG combat system. The abilities of a character in combat are based on his or her stats. Characters also have skills that use up the character's MP with each use. These skills can be more powerful attacks, healing spells, increase the abilities of allies, or hinder the abilities of opponents. The player only controls Capell during the game. The other party members are controlled by the game's AI.
- The leveling system in this Xbox 360 exclusive game is linear, but has several aspects a character can grow in. Similar to most RPG's, the character earns experience points by defeating enemies. The character gains a level once a certain amount of experience is gained. That character's stats increase every time he or she gains a level, occasionally learning a new skill as well. Skills also have levels, which is raised by using that particular skill in combat.
- A variety of methods to craft items was included in "Infinite Undiscovery" by tri-Ace. Several characters in the game have unique types of item creation that only can be performed by that character. Each of these techniques requires the player have all the components listed in the recipe to make. Most of these techniques create permanent items. One exception is Capell's enchantment ability, which only temporarily grants a bonus to the enchanted item. Several skills in the game can only be learned by using books created by Rico with his writing skill.
- Throughout most of this Xbox 360 exclusive, the party is comprised of four characters. One of those characters is always Capell, the main character. The player can then select any three other primary characters that are available to fill the other party slots. In some cases the story will occasionally force the player to use certain characters. Secondary party members cannot be added to Capell's party. These characters are occasionally used when the story has the player control multiple parties. The party or parties without Capell use the secondary party members.
