Menu Options for Seasonal Catering

    Fall Menus

    • A change in seasons and the beginning of cold weather mark the transition into fall. For an autumn-based seasonal menu, offer a mixture of dishes that utilize fresh local ingredients, such as mushrooms and squash. Wild mushroom risotto mixes a variety of fresh mushrooms with rice and chicken broth, creating a creamy side or main dish. Scoop out the inside of pumpkins and use it to make a warm pumpkin soup. Serve the soup inside the pumpkin flesh with a spicy sour cream topping. For desserts, provide a selection of pumpkin or pecan pies.

    Winter Menus

    • During the winter season, offer hearty comfort foods that remind customers of the holidays. Spice rubbed pork loin, freshly roasted turkey and spiral-cut ham are commonly served for holiday dinners. Mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables, including squash, zucchini and green beans, will make customers feel warm inside. Offer a few wild game options, such as venison served with a thick gravy and roasted potatoes. Use caramel apple pie or warm pears topped with vanilla ice cream and a thick caramel sauce for the dessert course.

    Spring Menus

    • Spring catering menus are typically lighter and use fresh fruits and vegetables that are just beginning to come into season. Give guests a selection of salads, such as a spinach and strawberry salad or cucumber-onion. The spring season also brings Easter events. Offer traditional Easter dishes, including spiral-cut ham, leg of lamb, yeast rolls, smoked green beans and deviled eggs. For the dessert menu, provide guests with handmade chocolates, coconut cake or even a decadent carrot cake.

    Summer Menus

    • Provide customers with seasonal summer menus that make use of fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables. Serve a selection of cold dishes, such as a cold pasta salad sprinkled with chopped vegetables or slices of tomato and mozzarella sprinkled with fresh basil. Cold soups, like strawberry soup and gazpacho, offer a cooling respite during the hot summer months. For those craving protein, offer warm chicken served over a selection of greens. Provide fresh berry compote for dessert.
