- 1). Remove the two twisted wires from the terminals on the invisible fence transmitter. Just pull them out and they should come free.
- 2). Place one end of the RF Choke into one of the terminals, then place the other end of the RF Choke into the other. The break alarm on your transmitter should now turn off, if it was sounding, and the transmitter should indicate that there is a good loop. If the transmitter continues to act like there is a break, the issue is not with your line, but with your transmitter and you should call the manufacturer for service.
- 3). Remove the RD Choke from the terminals, then wind each of the twisted wires that you originally removed around opposite ends of the RF Choke, leaving the very end of the RF Choke wires exposed. Plug the RF Choke back into the terminals on the transmitter.
- 4). Turn your AM radio on and hold it close to the wires. Tune the radio to around 600 kHz and you should hear a throbbing noise when the radio is close to the wires. Fine tune the radio until the noise is as loud as can be.
- 5). Walk outside to where the invisible fence starts, which will be closest to the transmitter. Walk along the path of the fence, keeping the radio as close to the ground as you can. When the radio signal starts to weaken, alter your direction to keep it strong. When there is a break in the signal for three to four feet, this is most likely your break in the line. Dig up the area and check for a break. If you do not find one, continue following the signal until you do.
