- 1). Set a short, clear vase on your work table. It doesn't matter if it's Waterford crystal or a $2 fish bowl.
- 2). Cut the floral foam so that it fits snugly into the bottom of the vase. It must not float when you add water later, so position it securely with no wiggle room.
- 3). Cut the stems of your flowers so that they peep just over the rim of the vase.
- 4). Cut the greenery in a similar fashion. The greenery should be the same length as your flowers. You can use any type of greenery that you like, but lemon leaves are particularly easy to work with.
- 5). Line the outer edge of the bowl with the red flowers, firmly pressing the stems into the foam. Slip the greenery in so that it appears that the leaves are resting on the rim, supporting the flowers. The greenery doesn't have to be secured to the foam.
- 6). Arrange the white flowers in the same circular manner, as close to the red flowers as possible. Repeat this once more with the red flowers, then create a cluster effect with the white flowers in the center. There should be no noticeable gaps.
- 7). Carefully add water. You may have to gently press one flower to the side for a moment in order to do this neatly. Make sure the floral foam is covered with water so all the stems receive it.
