Hello and welcome, first of all let me introduce myself... My name is Jean-Pierre and I'm a tech freak! Follow me up on Facebook and ask my friends and family and they will tell you the same thing. Any how, coming back to the point, solar power has been and is still my favorite, piece of technology that I regularly incorporate into my Micro Processor based projects, it hasn't always been like that; because I only incorporated solar energy within projects recently...
I'm always on the prowl, for cheap solar cells, because they serve my purposes well, keeping my projects well within budget. In my resources box, Ive left some links to my favorite spot for solar cells. But in the mean time, here's my "take" on solar energy?
Solar energy has taken the world by storm as environmental issues worsen and costs of electricity continue to escalate. Energy it seems has dominated the entire planet, where there is unwillingness to share, political conflicts arise. And as the resources begin to deplete and environmental issues continue to worsen, so too does the cost of fuel and energy continue to rise. But we do have ways to tackle the issues... I've been in the DIY sector for just over two years now and I am quite astonished about the amount of people that are jumping on board in the fight against climate change and rising energy costs. As you've probably heard many times over that building your own solar panels is the way to go, if you want to reduce your expenditures while also helping the planet. While researching many options, I discovered that eBay has the cheapest solar cells that I have come across. One page ( not sure if still available since time of publishing this post) in particular has 1000 watts worth of solar cells, for just $350! I knew from that point if I want to help make a change on this planet, then I have to get the message out. You can find the link at the bottom of this page.
Some of the best instructions for building solar panels can be found online and is priced from $49.00 onwards, but there are some websites available, that will show you how to do it for free. But before you opt for free plans, I strongly recommend you go through the instructions to make sure you can follow it through. There's nothing worse than to be half way through your project and then have to stop because of not enough information to go to the next step. Follow the above rule and you won't lose money to an unfinished project. The best application for your solar energy project I found, is to first power the fridge and once that's out of the way, you may wish to store the solar energy and to use it during peak periods. During peak periods, electricity costs the most and if you were to supply solar energy then, then you would see huge savings, without having to spend thousands on a solar energy system.Good luck with going green.Jean-Pierre Lemillour
