How To Begin Diwali Preparations For 2011

The festival of lights brings with it lots of celebrations, sweets, and the blessings of gods and goddess shower on the world and bring peace and prosperity with it.
Diwali is celebrated all over the world with great heartiness and joy.
Young and old both enjoy this festival and wait for it all year-long.
There are many people who mark this holiday at the beginning of the year and wait in anticipation of the festival or all year around.
Although the preparations for Diwali only pick up pace a two to three weeks before the festival date, the anticipation actually builds up long before that.
There are many elements that are included in Diwali preparations.
It is not just a festival; it is a start of new beginnings.
Especially for the business men, as the festival of Diwali brings the auspicious beginning to the New Year of business.
For everybody Diwali is associated with the hope of peace all over the world.
The main parts of Diwali celebrations include the pooja or prayers being offered to the goddess of wealth, Laxmi, busting of firecrackers to scare and smoke the bad away from the world, sweets being exchanged with well wishes that the sweetness will bring happiness to everybody and lots of lights that symbolize joy.
When preparing for Diwali 2011 here is a list of few things which you must keep in mind: Before you began your Diwali shopping, to make things easier and simpler it would help to make a list of the things you will need.
This will include what sweets you want to prepare, how many fireworks, lights, new clothes, ingredients for the pooja etc.
Once your list is ready began your preparations with cleaning your house from top to bottom.
A clean house will is the most important part of Diwali celebrations.
Throw away anything that is not needed, give your house/ business places a fresh coat of paint etc.
If you have been thinking of changing the curtains and cushions this will be a good time to do so.
Polish whatever that needs polishing, mow the lawn, clean out your garage to give your house a new look.
The next step is to clear a space for the pooja or prayer.
Generally the direction is north to south.
The newspapers and websites generally publish the time the necessary ingredients of the pooja a few days before the date.
The shops and even the street markets are laden with good and various attractive decorative items which make it very easy to shop for Diwali.
