What is Mindfulness Meditation?

Often people asked me this question about mind fullness meditation.
They say that they want to learn it but do not know where to start and how to proceed.
In this article I shall tell you about mindfulness and the easiest way to master it.
Mindfulness meditation has its roots in Buddhism and if you go further, you may find its ancient traces in old Indian Tantra Treatise like the 'Vigyan Bhairava Tantra'.
As the name suggests, mindfulness meditation means to become mindful of the present moment.
And when I say the present moment its not only what is happening around us at any given moment.
It involves a close awareness of what is happening inside our body too.
And when I say inside your body too, it does not mean only what is happening to physical body only.
It involves being mindful of your thoughts, your feelings, and your all emotions.
Basically it is a three fold process where you gradually proceed from being aware of your surroundings, your body, your sensations and finally your thoughts and emotions.
However, all this observation is done from a third party point of view, with no attempt to deny or block the thoughts or to distract from the circumstances.
As such Mindfulness is a non-judgmental observation of emotions and thoughts impassively so as to understand the real person behind this veil of emotions who see and observe all things.
No judgment only observation in an unattached manner is the cornerstone of mindfulness meditation.
Mindful meditation helps us to understand the transient and insubstantial nature of our inner being which seldom or never comes out from the veil of mysterious surroundings of our thoughts and emotions.
It is not an easy technique and requires persistence and long and dedicated practice.
However, it is one of the most powerful and effective meditation techniques that bring permanent changes in the way we interact with this world.
It give an entire new perspective towards universe and individuals.
In the higher circles of Buddhism the mindfulness meditation is the most revered of all the techniques of meditation as it has its roots in the Buddha itself.
