To Use the First Principle of Huna - IKE, the World is What You Think it Is

I will begin here a series of seven articles all dealing with a different principle of Huna and how it is to express it and to use it in everyday life.
Huna is a spiritual and shamanic practice from Hawaii.
Moreover, in my opinion it is a wisdom of great depth and of great philosophical significance.
The first principle of Huna is: IKE, the world is what you think it is.
Become the director of the movie of your life...
Now imagine that you send the script of a movie to three directors.
The first is a director "A" whom is known for always making dark movies with heavy atmosphere and always using the minimum of colors.
The second director "B" is known for his mastery of special effects and theatrical stagings.
The last director "C" is known for his strange, very special and dreamlike scenes.
Even if it is the same script that was sent to the three directors, you can be sure that in the end you will get three completely different movies.
For each director will reinvent the script through the filter of his own perception, his tastes and habits.
In life it is much the same thing that happens.
An event is always neutral.
But all his power comes from the color that is given by the filter of the emotions of the person who feels or participates in this event.
Take for example three people in a park during a beautiful sunset.
The first person dreams of a love that life will bring to him, watching the sunset awakens in him a desire, a lack and a need to experience something profound and beautiful.
The soft rays of the sun awake in him the hope of a love that the hot wind will bring.
The second person knows that in the night she will go to her partner.
The sun's rays just remind her of the desire that is aroused in her, and suggest a night of passion that awaits her.
The last person has just been dumped by his boyfriend.
The setting sun reminded him of the end of a happy period of his life.
His heart is crying and cools as the sun sets at the horizon.
In this example, the sunset is an event entirely neutral.
However, for the three people it manifests and expresses something completely different.
This example clearly shows the reality of the first principle of Huna.
The world is what you think it is.
The reality is totally dependent on your perception and therefore as a director, for the same script, you can choose to shoot the movie you want.
...
And co-create your reality...
If your perception of some events depends on the filter with which you perceive them, this means that by changing it you can consciously change the experience you have about your reality; that is to say about your daily life.
What a prodigious power! So many opportunities are available to you! It is true that often when you are living difficult times, you tend to be totally focused on the tragedy or event that strikes you.
This behavior seems instinctive and is normal.
But I sincerely believe that there is always different ways to look at a similar situation and with a conscious effort you can see in a problem the seed of a beneficial change.
This change can be external in nature (e.
g.
loss of a job may provide an opportunity to finally do what your heart really wants to do) or internal (e.
g.
a breakup offers a time to think about yourself and allows you to highlight some deep emotional wounds and to cure them).
The conscious effort that you must provide to look at things from a new perspective can be very difficult at the beginning.
So do not judge you or discourage you if you do not succeed.
You do not have to radically change your point of view.
I will try here to give you some thoughts to help you.
...
By learning to turn a negative situation into a positive experience or a neutral one!
As I said earlier it is not always possible to completely alter your perception of an event.
In effect we are humans and so are endowed with rich subconscious "programs" and we have powerful emotions that quickly come to color the painting of our life.
However, to help you to express in your life the principle of IKE, that is to say to experiment specifically the fact that the world is what you think it is, here are some tips: 1 - First, everyday attach yourself to change your perception of small things.
For example: in the morning you arrive in front of your subway where a crowd is already inside.
You may decide that your day starts badly.
Or you can choose to let one or two trains pass and decide to use this pause to listen to your favorite music.
And I mean really listen to the music, because how many times we listen to an album in the background without letting the music awaken in our minds pictures and then to find that three songs have already passed...
2 - When a negative event happens to you, ask yourself consciously what does it have to offer to you? How will this change in your plan open new paths for you? There are always some new paths to explore.
The proof is that even if one of your plans fails, your life continues to move forward.
If really for the moment, you do not see a new path, ask yourself what this event tells you about yourself.
What wisdom and what lessons will you be able to draw from this experience? 3 - Every day you should take time to meditate on positive things, to think about your dreams, to laugh and to feed you with positive experiences (through parties, reading, favorite movies...
).
If you spend your time watching aggressive information and talking only about negative things, you will eventually perceive all of the reality through this gray filter.
4 - Finally the last exercise which is very effective is to give thanks every day for the good things that happened to you or the positive elements of your reality.
This may take the form of a prayer to your guides, a global thank or simply by reviewing with pleasure and joy the good things in your life.
If nothing comes to your mind, you can start celebrating the fact that you are alive, that you can eat at each meal or you can celebrate the beauty of the sunrise you saw this morning.
