This dog park in Gilbert, Arizona was voted "Best Dog Park 2007," by Dog Fancy magazine. Its unusual features span four acres of land for dogs to roam in. Dog-oriented amenities include a swimming area and exercise equipment designed for four legs, such as obstacle courses and tubes. Doggie drinking fountains are provided in the shape of fire hydrants, and owners have plenty of benches and tables to sit at while their dogs engage in play.

Long Island's Old Bethpage Village Dog Run is unique for its unconventional location. Old Bethpage recreates the feel of a typical 19th-century New England village, and hosts a number of family-friendly attractions throughout the year. The dog run, located near the entrance to the Village, offers separate areas for large and small dogs. The run also features an unusual eco-friendly rainwater collection system to provide drinking water for the dogs.

Westmere, New York is home to this "fitness club" and play area for dogs. The club, a 4000-square-foot indoor facility, provides a safe space for dogs to run and socialize. Fido Fitness Club boasts special compressed foam floors designed to be extra-comfortable for both dogs and their owners to run around in, as well as a variety of obstacle set-ups to add a fresh challenge to games of fetch.

In sunny Venice, Florida, Brohard Paw Park and Dog Beach has a very special location. In addition to a watering hole, it has a "penalty" area for dogs who get a little overexcited, and a separate area for smaller dogs. The boardwalk is what makes this dog park special: it leads to the only dog-friendly public beach in the area, where dogs have the run of the Gulf of Mexico, from dawn to dusk every day.
